The graphic below divides the semester into weeks and then indicates the week's assignments. I want to caution you about how easy and disastrous falling behind in your work can be. When you work by yourself it easy to put off or be distracted from the class. One can easily rationalize that,"There is a whole semester to catch up in." And while that is true, it is not how it works out. In my experience with online classes, the vast, vast majority of students that fall behind never get caught up. There is simply too much work involved. Starting this semester, I am going to try to make it more important for you to stay caught up by employing a negative reinforcer. If work is more than five days late - and this includes both the Chapter Reviews and the Explorations - there will be a 25% point deduction. I want you to be a SUCCESSFUL COMPLETER of the course. I have organized the material and work into a series of small steps. Be disciplined, pay attention to the class and you should be able to walk away from the experience with a lot of new knowledge and an A. I enjoy rewarding self discipline and effort. On the other hand, if you pay spotty or erratic attention to the course, drift off for three or four days, then you are not very likely to be a successful completer and will end up dropping or failing.
The week's assignments are due on Friday at 8 pm
We are going to be together for the next sixteen weeks. Our time together will pass very quickly. Heed my advice and good luck to each of us.
