CHEMICAL OF THE DAY


   
On certain lecture days this semester the name of a chemical 
will be given to you at the beginning of class.  
You will need to keep an ongoing record of the chemicals and their descriptions.  
An attempt should be made to research the chemical and its current relevance.  
It will be something timely, as these chemicals will be taken from news items. 
This project is intended to show you how chemistry is related to real life issues 
and situations locally, nationally and sometimes globally. 
The chemical name and a brief, three sentence, description or explanation 
of the nature of the chemical will be required.  
Four points will be given for each chemical on the list.  
The list will contain 50 chemicals.   
Please e-mail this list of CODs to me by week XV.  
The internet is a great source of information for this project.  
Feel free to use other sources.  
Hopefully, you also will notice the CODs in the media.
