MEETING AGENDA


Friday, November 12, 2004

9 am through 4 pm – Farmstead Archaeology: Illinois’ Agricultural Legacy (click here for agenda particulars) An invited symposium on historical archaeology. There is will be a lunch break of one and one-half hours at noon. IAAA members and the public are invited to attend these presentations.

7 pm – Illinois Archaeological Survey business meeting for IAS Fellows, there will be a reception for IAS Fellows and IAAA members following the business meeting.

Saturday, November 13, 2004

9 am through noon – Papers on current archaeological research in Illinois.

1:30 through 3 pm – Papers on current archaeological research in Illinois.

3 pm – Keynote address Excavation and Ongoing Research at the Schaefer Mammoth Exploitation Site, Kenosha County Wisconsin will be presented by Dan Joyce, Senior Curator of Exhibits and Collections, Kenosha Public Museum. The Schaefer Mammoth site is near Kenosha, Wisconsin. It appears to have been butchered 12,300 years ago.

4 pm through 5 pm – Guided tour of the Museum’s new Changes exhibit.

If you’re interested in giving a current research paper please forward a title, abstract (100 words), and author(s) to Michael Wiant (wiant@museum.state.il.us) in a Word, WordPerfect, or rich-text format. Presentations will be limited to 20 minutes. Also, indicate whether you will require a slide projector or PowerPoint equipment.
