MAT0952900:
Hybrid Beginning Algebra
Enrollment Information
This hybrid class has a restricted enrollment, which is why you have to contact the Counseling and Advising Center. Unfortunately, online and hybrid math classes have a low success rate, and as a result we are screening students before they enter the class. Basic course requirements are:
You have a minimum 2.5 GPA.
You have not taken MAT095 (beginning algebra) in the past.
You have earned at least a B in MAT094 (pre-algebra) or appropriate placement score on the COMPASS exam.
You have a reliable computer with up-to-date web browser.
You have a reliable internet connection.
You have basic computer and internet competency skills.
Also, I must warn you that success in a hybrid math class requires more work and time than the same math class that would meet for five hours a week on campus. Click here to view the syllabus for more information on the course structure. I make minor syllabus changes occasionally, so this syllabus is only a sample.
To enroll in this course, contact the Counseling and Advising Center in room A251 or you may call 217-351-2219.
