When attempting to design the layout of a report the Font type you choose
will have a significant affect. Notice how the different fonts require different
amounts of horizontal space even when the font size is the same in the following
samples.

You can control the font type and size by setting the Font property of an
object at design time. (it is more difficult to change the Font property while
the program is running.)
When controlling the way data is formatted based on columns and print positions
you must use a mono-spaced font. A mono-spaced font uses the same amount of
horizontal space for every letter and character. Courier New is a mono-spaced
font.

Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

In a font that is not mono-spaced the letter i requires less space than the
letter w.
