Lohmann Park

Location: Urbana, Illinois

Directions: From I-74 in the Champaign/Urbana area, exit on Cunningham Ave. and go south for about 2.5 miles. Turn left on Florida Ave. (stop sign). Travel about 1 mile on Florida. The park is behind Thomas Paine School on the right. There is no parking for Lohmann Park (other than in the school parking lot).

Description: There are 9 holes with standard baskets. The tees are gravel or dirt. There are signs for the first 7 holes. The course encircles a cricket field and a soccer field (which can be annoying if games are in progress, which isn't very often). Hole lengths are: 248, 192, 257, 203, 232, 223, 174, 192, 270. The total course length is 1991 feet for an average of 221 feet per hole. Some holes have interesting tree-lined fairways, some are wide open. There are no elevation changes or water hazards.

Rating: 1.5 out of 4.0. The course loses points for having some bad tee areas, for missing signs, for being too close to the soccer and cricket fields, for being too short, and for having boring landscape. The wide open holes (4, 6, and 9) are not very interesting. Some of the holes are fairly good for their length, especially 7 and 8. And disc golf is disc golf.
