Directions

Patton Woods can be reached by traveling east on US 136 from Rantoul, two miles past Gifford to County Road    2500 E, then north six miles.

This 14 acre tract, located near the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River, features a dry oak-hickory forest which contains a variety of trees, shrubs, smaller plants, and animal life.  Most of the woods have never been disturbed by human activity and contain a few uncommon plants for this part of Illinois.

Patton Woods is owned by the Champaign County Forest Preserve District and is managed by its staff with help from Parkland College and The Nature Conservancy.
