Homework Assignments
Instructor: Paul Young

Objectives

To develop information literacy skills. To become proficient with digital tools to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information. To become independent lifelong learners.

Description

Through discussion forums and self-guided explorations, students will become familiar with search engines, wikis, social bookmarking, and other digital tools for productivity and learning. Students will use these tools to gain the necessary information literacy skills to:

  • determine the nature and extent of the information needed
  • access needed information effectively and efficiently
  • evaluate information and its sources critically and incorporate selected information into his or her knowledge base and value system
  • use information effectively to accomplish a specific purpose

Procedure

  1. Login to your Angel account every week, select the "Assignments" tab
  2. Select the discussion forum for the week and follow the instructions
  3. Post your completed assignment by Wednesday (spelling, grammar and clarity of thought count!)
  4. Read and respond to at least 3 of your classmates by Saturday (choose posts that have the least number of responses)

Schedule

Your initial post is due Wednesday at 11:55pm of every week. You must also respond to your team members' posts by the following Sunday at 11:55pm.

Note: Homework assignments are graded pass/fail. Credit will be given each week only if both parts of the assignment are completed on time.
