CSC 121 WEB SITE DESIGN
Extra Credit Essays
Instructor: Paul Young

Objectives

To reinforce knowledge regarding web design issues. To earn extra credit, if needed.

Description

Write a 500-word essay about any or more of the following topics:

• Typography
• Visual literacy
• Mass Communication
• Design Principles
• Internet marketing

Note: Each essay is worth 5% of your semester grade. Essays will be accepted up until the last day of class.

Procedure

• Choose a topic and research it thoroughly
• You are required to use at least one non-Internet source (i.e. a book or periodical)
• Properly introduce your topic and thesis
• Provide supporting evidence to support your thesis
• When quoting or paraphrasing another source, you must use quotation marks and/or properly attribute the original author
• Conclude your essay with a summary of your main points
• Cite all refrences and sources
• Title your essay
• Proofread your essay
• Email your essay as an attached Word document to pyoung@parkland.edu and anni@lmntal.com
• Also post the text of your essay as a link to your personal web site
