Greetings, Salutations, and all that whatnot.  Welcome to my little corner of Parkland College, or at least the virtual corner.  The "real" corner is located in C247 - look for the desk with all the Batman stuff.

If you don't know me, a quick introduction: I teach composition and literature in the Department of English and Critical Studies here at Parkland.  Among my many pedagogical leanings is a strong interest in the use of internet technologies in the teaching of writing (and now, literature) - hence the web presence of my class materials.  I am also, in no particular order, a general internet geek, an amateur web designer, a comic book fan, a general media fan, a cat owner (well, they let me think I own them, anyway), an intermittent baseball fan (it's hard when your team keeps ending up in last place), a connoisseur of bad horror movies, a native of the MidWest who has returned from exile in Arizona, and all-around geek-girl.

A few words about what you will find here:

  • Materials for current classes.
  • A while back, I led a session on using Front Page to make web pages.  For that session, I wrote up a self-guided tutorial
  • A set of links for a Professional Development Day session on using internet technologies in the writing classroom.

Any of these materials, including web site templates, are free for adaptation and use by educators. Credit is not required unless material is being used commercially, for award applications, or for research.
