Technology
For this class you will need:
  • Regular and reliable access to the Internet.  This one's a gimme.  You cannot complete a half-on-line class if you cannot get on-line.  For this class, you will need to be able to get on-line at least twice a week.
  • Access to a regular and reliable email account that you check on a regular basis.  Personally, I don't care if you use your Parkland email or another, as long as it's an account you check several times a week.
  • Access to our class WebBoard.  Go here for directions for creating an account.
  • Access either to Microsoft Word or to a word processing program that can be made compatible with MS Word.  I'll talk more about this in the policies section, but simply put: I need to be able to read your papers and exams.  I'm more than happy to explain to you how to save the files so I can read them, but you have to be willing to work with me.

It goes without saying (I hope) that you need to know how to use a computer.  In particular, you need to know how to navigate a web page, use email (including sending attachments), and use a word processor.  You do not need to know how to use WebBoard; however, you have to be willing to learn.
