In-Class Writing In 2-3 paragraphs, point out the differences between the two descriptions below: I'm sitting in my office, which is really the second bedroom of my apartment. We just call it the office because our computer is in here. It's a really dinky room, almost as small as the bedroom I had growing up, which was pretty small. The walls are the same boring off-white that you see in every apartment in the country, and the carpet is the same boring light brown that you see in those same apartments, except that ours is covered in cat fur (yeah, we don't vacuum in here much). The room is dominated by our treadmill, which has taken to squeaking lately. Need to look up the warranty on that. It's right in front of our small blue couch, which of course means we can't use the couch. And as usual, Safi is in the back corner of the couch, ensuring that we have to streeeetch over the treadmill to pet her. I swear she does it to test our love. The desk is, as usual, a mess, with all manner of CDs and napkins spread out around the computer. My tea mug is steaming away, taunting me with the smell of chai that is still too hot to drink. Of course, if I had the slightest patience for letting it steep, I wouldn't have to make it so hot to get it strong. You'd think I'd learn that I pay for slow prep time in the long cooling time. I've been trying to watch the Witchblade CDs a friend sent me, but the picture is really small, and in places the sound is out of sync with the pictures. Of course, it doesn't help that I'm Short Attention Span Girl and keep opening other windows to read. Also, to get the sound loud enough to hear the episodes, I have to put up with a piercing beep every time I get new mail. You'd think they'd put the blasted show out on DVD already. ~~~ I'm sitting in my office, which is really the second bedroom of my apartment. We just call it the office because our computer is in here. I didn't realize until I visited home last weekend that this room is actually bigger than my childhood bedroom. Strange what a little perspective can do. It's nice that the walls are so neutral, as we've got an eclectic mix of artwork in here. My signed Johnny Bench poster would surely clash with almost any color, but how can I not hang it up? It's Johnny! Okay, the bright red frame is a little tacky, but it's the team colors, and I'm still loyal enough to love that shade of red. Our treadmill take up a lot of space, but oh, how I love my treadmill. To be able to work out here in my own home, without worrying about someone demanding I give them a turn, and without the bugs biting or the sun beating down? Wonderful. Not that I'm working out right now. Nope. Instead I'm lazing back with a mug of chai tea (my newest addiction) that's making the room smell like cloves. Safi is, as usual, curled up adorably on the sofa. Every once in a while, I get up to pet her. She makes me work for it, but the purr that runs through her is worth it, as are the kitty-kisses I get when I hold my hand out. She's gotten so much more affectionate since Gus got a little bigger. Speaking of the Gus, he's curled up on the floor a few feet away, almost blending into the carpet (which conveniently doesn't show his fur nearly as badly as Safi's). My kitties do love me. I finally managed to start the Witchblade CDs Bas sent me all those months ago. Would you believe I just needed a simple plug-in? And really, how amazing is this, being able to watch tv while surfing the web? Comes in handy for the boring scenes. Now if I could just figure out how to do this during my office hours.
