Project 3:

Prospectus/Bibliography

Overview
In this project, you will present a tentative plan for your final research paper and a tentative list of sources.

Prospectus

The prospectus is a tentative plan for your research paper.  Since there is a fair amount of time left in the term, you should not consider this set in stone.  However, it will serve to help you narrow your process a bit.

The prospectus is a formal document that is to follow a specific format.  You can see that format here.  Required elements include:

  • Research Question
  • Background
  • Writing Plan

The prospectus is not a long document: it should be about one and a half to two pages.

Bibliography

Your bibliography is again a tentative listing of your sources.  Doubtless some will be added later, and some that are listed may not be used in your final paper.  However, for the present, you will list all the sources that you think will be used in your paper.  This should be done in correct MLA format.
