Cat's Eye pp 397-462

Directions:  In the appropriate conference on our WebBoard, make three separate posts on something from this section or the whole novel that you would like to discuss.

Again, I'm leaving things a little freeform this week, only with a few additional instructions.
  1. In addition to discussing things from this section, consider discussing things from the novel as a whole.  For example, how does Elaine's art function throughout the novel to illustrate themes, coming to a culmination in the final section?  How does the legacy of Elaine's childhood follow her through her life?  What about the men in the book?  How do they function?
  2. While you're welcome to post about something that's interesting you and catching your eye, you need to go beyond "like" and "don't like."  Things like, "I'm really interested in the glimpses we're getting of Cordelia's home life.  It seems to me that..." are analytical and literary.  "God, this book is so boring" is not.
  3. You'll want to think about the different types of things we've discussed so far: themes, character development, symbolism, narrative technique, etc.
  4. Be sure to post at least five sentences.
