discuss one or all of the following.
- What point-of-view (see the
Introduction to Literary Analysis) is "The Lottery" told
in? How does that point-of-view influence the story? How might the
story have been different in another point-of-view.
- Read "The Morning of June 28, 1948 and 'The Lottery'." What do
you think provoked such a strong reaction in readers about this
story? What was your own reaction to the story?
- Given when the story was written, what historical event might
have shaped the theme of the story and how?
