Test 3 -- Selection (covering the   if,   and  if  else , structures, including nested if's)

Material Covered:

• The Selection Practice Problems -- study hint: do all of them!  If you get stuck, refer to the problems done in-class, and, to a lesser extent, Chapters 8 and 9 of the text.

Questions:

• 2 tasks on the computer: You will be given two problem descriptions that are very similar to, or possibly even exactly the same as, the Selection Practice Problems.  You must implement both problems in a program or programs you write from scratch.  You may implement both programs in a single  int main(), allowing both problems to run one after the other in a single program.  Alternatively, you may open up Microsoft C++ twice and run one problem in a separate program on each copy.
• The selection of the two problems will be from the higher numbers up to #30.   They will not be as hard as the last four problems, numbered #31 to #34..

Environment:

• Administered on your computer.
• You will have from 11:30 am to 12:20 pm to implement both problems.
• Show your program to the teacher for immediate grading.
• Individual work with help from the teacher only.  Closed book, closed notes, closed computer except for Microsoft Visual C++.   You are not allowed to get code from any source.  You must write your program from scratch and from memory.

Grading:

• 3 points for each of the two problems
•      and 1 point will be for correct C coding style, including proper indentation.
• 7 points total for both problems.
