Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.)
This program prepares students for entry-level work in the human services. Mental health facilities, child welfare agencies, schools, medical facilities, and substance abuse treatment centers are some of the employers of Human Service Technicians. Graduates provide support and assistance to clients under the supervision of social workers, psychologists, nurses, psychiatrists, and other human service professionals. The program allows students to choose an interest area through selection of three focus electives. The emphasis of the training is on skill acquisition and practical application.The last semester includes an intensive internship with supervision from experienced professionals in the field.
